A local family has decided to pay Christmas forward this year.

Barry and Therese Malindine and family are making a Christmas meal as usual this year, but this time they’re inviting people in Kindersley and area to join them – at no cost.

The Malindines will be serving up turkey with all the trimmings on Dec. 25 at 3 p.m. at the Kindersley Legion Hall.

Barry says his daughter, Sarah, recently came up with the idea and shared it on social media. Since then, he said, the response from the community has been tremendous.

“We’ve had such great response from people in the community,” he said. “They’ve been asking how they can donate or help out, which has been great.”
