The Klippers and the Flin Flon Bombers split their two-game series in Kindersley prior to the Christmas break.

The Kindersley Klippers had the weekend off, despite having two games scheduled against the Battlefords North Stars.

The team was supposed to be in the Battlefords on Friday night but the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League game was postponed due to the extreme cold weather.

This game will take place tonight at the North Battleford Civic Centre.

Saturday’s game was also postponed due to the weather and will be rescheduled in the near future.

The Klippers will host the Notre Dame Hounds on  Saturday before heading out on the road for four straight games – Jan. 9 they will be in Wilcox to take on the Hounds; Jan. 10 in Estevan; Jan. 12 in Weyburn, then back to Estevan to close the trip out Jan. 13.

The Klippers enter the new year with a record of 14-14-2-2 for 32 points, last in the Global Ag. Risk Solutions Division.

The Battlefords remain first with 50 points, followed by Notre Dame with 46 points and Humboldt with 43.

The Klippers closed out 2017 with two games prior to the Christmas break against Flin Flon.

On Dec. 19, they lost 5-3 at home against the Bombers, after beating them 5-4 the night before.

Keillian Olson is the team’s top scorer with eight goals and 23 assists for 31 points. Tanner Thompson is second with 12 goals and 12 assists for 24 points.
