It’s provincial championship time for three minor baseball league teams.

The Kindersley Bantam Royals will be in Carnduff for the Tier 4 Bantam AA championships this weekend.

They will compete against six other teams. The Royals are in Pool A with the Saskatoon Cardinals, Sask Five Giants and Lumsden Cubs. Pool B will consist of the Carnduff Astros, Saskatoon As and Lloydminster Twins.

The Royals will kick off the tournament Friday at 1:30 p.m. against the Cardinals.

Also, this weekend, the Mosquito Royals will travel to Tisdale for the Mosquito AA Tier 3 provincial championships that will see 16 teams competing.

They will be in Pool D with teams from Meadow Lake, Melfort and Weyburn.

Their first game will be held Friday at 6:15 p.m. against Weyburn.

The Peewees will head to Moosomin for the Peewee AA Tier 4 championships July 21-23.

There will be 10 teams competing for the title in this one.

The Royals will be in Pool B with teams from Gull Lake, Kipling, Saskatoon and Assiniboia. Pool A consists of teams from Rosetown, Moosomin, the Sask Five Giants, Prince Albert and Southey.

The Royals will play their first game Friday at 1 p.m. against Assiniboia.

Softball

In softball action, the UK Royals are provincial champions after winning the title in a three-team competition in Delisle this past weekend. They will now attend Western Canadians – more information on this to come.

The u16 girls competed in a 20-team championship in Moose Jaw this past weekend and came away with a 1-3 record.

Coming up this weekend, the u18 Royals will compete in the nine-team ‘B’ girls championship in Regina. They are in the Green pool with teams from Regina, Moose Jaw, Oxbow and Melfort. The White Pool will consist of teams from Wapella, Saskatoon, Unity and Parkland.

The Royals will play Regina in their opening game Friday at 6:30 p.m.

Also this weekend, the u14 girls will compete in the 10-team ‘C’ girls championship in Biggar.

The Royals will be in the Green Pool with teams from Biggar, Turtleford, Estterhazy and Tisdale. The White pool will consist of teams from Unity, Macklin, Humboldt, Swift Current and Redvers.

The Royals will open up the tournament Friday at 11:30 a.m. against Biggar.

The u12 Royals will compete in a nine-team ‘C’ tournament in Macklin this weekend.

The Royals will be in the White Pool with teams from Turtleford, Parkland and Tisdale. The Green Pool will consist of teams from Macklin, Unity, Wadena, Shellbrook and Laird.

Game one for the Royals will be Friday at 4 p.m.
