The Kindersley sledge hockey club will host its third annual tournament this weekend, with a record 10 teams competing.

Five teams will compete in the junior division – Kindersley, Edmonton, Calgary, Regina and Swift Current. Five more will compete in the intermediate division – Bruno, Cut Knife, Medicine Hat, Calgary and Regina.

The action gets under way on Friday at 7 p.m. with the hometown Klippers taking on the Swift Current Ice Breakers in the first junior division matchup.

In the intermediate division, four older players from the Kindersley club – Tristin McBain, Bret Klassen, Will Avotins, Matthew Kehrer and Preston Greenstein –  will play with the Cut Knife Sledge Hammers, who take on the Medicine Hat Hounds at 8:30 p.m.

Action continues all day Saturday and Sunday.

Admission is free and everyone is invited to check it out. There will also be a raffle table and 50/50 opportunities.
