The Kindersley Raiders and Kindersley Stallions were scheduled to play games last night, and both series could have come to an end depending on one outcome.

The Stallions were hosting the Oyen Eagles at Berard Field on Monday night facing elimination in their three-game semifinal series in the Fertile Valley Baseball League playoffs, but the home team squeaked out a 3-2 win to push the series to a deciding game.

JD Knutson got the start for the Stallions and the close game was all knotted up after three innings. The home team managed to hold off the offensive powerhouse from Oyen as they took the series to a third game. It is only the second game Oyen has lost all year including 11 games during the regular season.

Game 3 was scheduled to be played last night in Oyen. The pennant-winning Eagles hammered the Stallions in Game 1 of the semi-final series by a score of 11-1 in Oyen on July 19, so the Stallions were hoping for a different result last night.

The Kindersley Raiders have been waiting to play Game 2 of a series against their league rival Rosetown Angels and the game was scheduled to be played last night in Rosetown. The first game of the series was played on July 19 in Kindersley, and the Raiders won 7-2 to take a lead in the series.

As long as the games were played, the semifinal between the Stallions and Oyen will be settled and the Raiders will either be moving on to play the winner of the second semifinal or play Game 3 in Kindersley tonight or tomorrow night. If both series ended last night, Game 1 of the FVBL final could be played as soon as tomorrow.
