We all know that our Kindersley youth have a lot of talent and each year at the Talent Night Telemiracle, it comes to the forefront, while raising money for a great cause.

Lyn Damasco and Prince Pacis share a song at the latest edition of the student’s Talent for Telemiracle fundraiser last week.

The event features students from Kindersley Composite School and Elizabeth School showing off their skills. This year, the 22 acts included piano players, ukulele players, dancers, singers. a trumpet player, a guitar player and a skit about surviving middle school.

Organizer Karen Barrows said that the event is a lot of fun every year.

“It was really good. I think everyone was real pleased with how things went,” she said. “I am just amazed every year with the talent that we have in Kindersley – there is a lot of hidden talent that we don’t often see and this is a good chance for them to get up on stage and share their talent.”

This is the fifth year for the event and a total of $2,660 was raised, bringing the total over the five years to more than $14,000 that all goes to Telemiracle.

“I can’t say enough about the support from the people in the area, the town of Kindersley for making this possible and the businesses who have been so great in helping us out,” said Barrows.

Those in attendance were treated to some angel food cake with berries and refreshments at the break and many took home some great prizes donated by local businesses.
