Elizabeth Lions prepare for semifinals

It was a little chilly Monday at 2C with a wind and rain mixed in with a little sleet. But the Elizabeth Lions and Rosetown battled the elements in their final game of the football season. The Lions, who already clinched fourth place, rested some of their players and lost this game. Their final record on the season is 3-3.

Lions’ running back Gabe Esto, who has been outstanding this season, makes a run during last Thursday’s game against Kerrobert in Kindersley. Kerrobert ended up winning this one 58-54. Esto and a few of the other starters rested Monday in preparation for the league semifinals that take place in Rosetown on Thursday. If they win, they will be in the finals against the winner of Kerrobert and Provost, scheduled for next week, on a date yet to be decided. Rosetown finished first in the league, followed by Kerrobert, then Provost, then Kindersley.
