The Kindersley Seniors Centre has new owners.

The Kindersley and District Co-op has taken ownership of the hall, located near the Co-op grocery store, as of June 1.

The president of the seniors’ club, the former owners of the building, said that it has been tough to keep up with the maintenance and everyday upkeep.

“Throughout the past few years, our memberships have been dwindling due to many of our former senior members passing away or moving,” said president June Nargang.

“There’s not the interest in the younger seniors of 55-plus, as many are still in the workforce, not even to buy memberships. So with a decrease in memberships and those attending weekly activities, we were having difficulty in maintaining the hall.”
