Skaters in the Kindersley Skating Club have been busy this March.

Four skaters attended the Jean Norman provincial skating competition in Swift Current March 2-4: Courtlyn Bertoia, Jayden Moen, Suzannah Bakanec and Simeon Bakanec.

They all did very well according to skating club president, Shannon Skinner. They all placed in their events. Jayden received silver in her free skate, Bronze in Jumps, and Gold in spins. Courtlyn received gold in free skate, silver in jumps and bronze in spins.

Suzannah received silver in free skate and Simeon received silver in his free skate.

This past weekend, 18 skaters from our club attended the regional competition in Maidstone. It was a fantastic weekend! Our skaters did great, participating in individual events, team events and our pre-star Synchro team competed for the first time.

“We are looking forward to our annual carnival, Skatetacular 2018, taking place at the West Central Events Centre this Sunday at 2 p.m.,” she said. “It’s always a fun event for our skaters as they get to show off all their hard work to family, friends and members of our community.”
